David Adams is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA™), and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) in Nashville, Tennessee. As Founder and CEO of Adams Wealth Partners, LLC (an independent practice offering securities through Raymond James Financial Services, Inc.), David has been committed to the financial well-being of his clients for over 20 years. Now more than ever, David is dedicated to changing an industry he feels is broken and outdated by utilizing his registered and trademarked Retire While You Work® philosophy and unique 3 Bucket Strategy to managing wealth. His passion for the business centers around helping people restore vital balance and financial strength through life’s many transitions—selling a business, loss of a loved one, marriage, divorce, retirement, and more.

David has extensive experience assisting, coaching, and advising clients through major liquidity events such as selling their business or musicians selling their catalogs. Additionally, his work in complicated divorce mediations with prominent attorneys has been especially fulfilling in helping families negotiate outside of court.

David Adams launched his Retire While You Work® radio show in 2016, a weekly program on Nashville News Radio 1510 WLAC and iHeart Radio. It has since transitioned to the Retire While You Work® Podcast (iTunes and Spotify), offering financial advice and answering listeners’ financial questions. David also published his first book, The Currency of Time, to share his philosophy of using money as a means to create memories and experiences with the people you love. The book, available on Amazon in hardback and audio formats, topped the new release charts during its 2019 debut.

David has been named to the Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list for eight consecutive years (2017–2025). Perhaps his proudest accomplishment was seeing his entire team recognized by Forbes for the 2024–2025 Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams. Additionally, Barron’s recognized David as a 2023–2024 Top 1200 U.S. Financial Advisor. In 2025, and for each of the 11 years prior, David was recognized by Raymond James as part of the Chairman’s Council for the top 1% of advisors in the country.
